I. The first level of membership is Interpersonal Heritage Guide (I-PG).
This professional specialises in direct communication with visitors, guiding them through programmes designed to foster understanding and appreciation of heritage. Their role is essential in delivering meaningful experiences, using personal interaction as a key tool to convey the value and significance of heritage effectively.

II. The second level of membership is Heritage Interpreter Design of Interpretive Programmes with Multimedia Integration (I-PM). This professional has advanced in their heritage interpretation career, strengthening their interpretive skills and maintaining a sustained commitment to the field for at least four years. Their speciality is the design of interpretive programmes aimed at developing integrated visitor experience models, strategically integrating personal, non-personal or multimedia media to create meaningful and coherent experiences.

III. The third affiliation standard is the Senior Interpreter (I-PS). This level recognises professionals who stand out for their career and excellence in heritage interpretation. Senior Interpreters have over ten years of experience in personal and multimedia interpretive techniques, as well as in the planning, management, and training of other interpreters.
Their background and expertise enable them to lead processes, contribute to the design and evaluation of interpretive programmes, and train new generations of professionals in the field.

This category recognises a distinguished career and significant influence in the field of heritage interpretation.
It includes authors and pioneers who have developed techniques and approaches, and who have made outstanding contributions to the profession through their work, research, and leadership.
Honorary Interpreters set high standards and enrich the field with their innovations and knowledge.
